Client

Launched in 2000 in the heart of London’s Notting Hill, the lifestyle brand Myla sells an array of luxurious lingerie, beautifully sculpted designer sex toys and wonderfully seductive body products.

Objective

Myla required an effective online marketing campaign to increase brand awareness, drive sales and launch their latest sex toy, The Sphere. The marketing campaign needed to compete with luxury lingerie market leader, Agent Provocateur, and similar companies, but without the Kate Moss/Mike Figgis’ budgets, so Pod1 needed to come up with something clever and attractive.

Solution

Pod1 worked in partnership with an award-winning director to produce a 30 second viral video ad which pays homage to the critically acclaimed Sony Bravia ad, ‘Balls’, and even to its cheeky Tango imitation. Filmed in and around Notting Hill viewers see a load of the top of the range two-speed spherical vibrators, designed by Rachel Wingfield, bouncing down the distinctive English streets. Result

The viral campaign ad has been lauded by online pundits including Mediaguardian and Shots, and has been viewed by over 500 000 people since its launch.
