Mr & Mrs Smith Boutique and Luxury Hotels has established itself as a stylish and highly respected guide to the hippest, chicest and sexiest hotels across Europe. From quirky boutique settings to super-luxurious retreats to the ultimate pubs, it provides a personal service reviewing, recommending and making reservations at properties to suit every mood and requirement
Objective
Mr & Mrs Smith was an extremely successful offline brand but it needed to translate its success online and encourage its clients to start booking via the Internet. It was looking for a digital agency that could design a site that accurately captured its sophisticated and desirable brand identity, and which incorporated an exclusive membership area and online shop.
The greatest challenge was the need to integrate more than 200 independent hotels online and coordinate the booking system so that clients could easily check availability in any one of their chosen properties
Solution
Pod1 created a highly visual site with a real emphasis on the Mr & Mrs Smith brand identity. A full content management system was established and usability was a high priority, for both Mr & Mrs Smith and its clients. Mr & Mrs Smith can simply and quickly update information on the site themselves and visitors to the site are welcomed with a stylish site that treats them to the same level of exclusive, personal service for which the Mr & Mrs Smith brand has become renowned. Custom relationship management (CRM) tools were also implemented, allowing Mr & Mrs Smith to maximise communication with clients, monitor performance and track results
Result
The website was an immediate, overwhelming success. From a few thousand visits a month, visitor traffic increased tenfold, resulting in three new revenue streams. Members’ email communications have received a 95% click-through rate. Following completion of the project, Pod1 went on to develop Mr & Mrs Smith’s e-marketing communications and search-engine marketing strategies.
