A subsidiary of Hachette Filipacchi Medias (the world's leading magazine publisher), Hachette Filipacchi UK Ltd is one of Britain's key magazine publishing houses producing high-profile titles for the female market including ELLE, ELLE Decoration, ELLE Girl, Red, B, Sugar and Psychologies.
Objective
Hachette Filipacchi is a dominant UK media player producing some of the world's leading magazines, yet before working with Pod1 the company had no online presence. It urgently needed an agency that could define its web design and emarketing requirements and understand its target audiences. It was crucial that each magazine title was reflected accurately, in its own right, but still in line with the other titles and maintaining a unified front for the company. A CMS system was required and, given the level of technical penetration at Hachette, it had to be extremely user-friendly.
Solution
Pod1 created an online marketing strategy that allowed for the delivery of a number of websites, complete with a Content Management System and user-friendly online tools. Thanks to its keen insight into Hachette Filipacchi's female audience, Pod1 knew just how to target and appeal to its readers. At the time, Hachette Filipacchi was launching a new title, Psychologies, and Pod1 integrated the offline launch with the launch of the magazine's new website.
Result
All the websites have shown healthy visitor rates and have encouraged subscriptions to the magazines, helping to establish a loyal database of readers.
